Talented Follow The Stars gelding Troopingofthecolor, who was bred and is raced by Allwood Stud Farm, put the exclamation mark on a stellar month for WA’s leading standardbred nursery when he downed a smart field in the $35,000 Northam Pacing Cup.

After suffering traffic problems until the home turn, the five-year-old was extricated into the open by Chris Voak soon after straightening and sailed down the outside of the track to win by two metres. It was his second win in five days and the 11th of his career. He has earned $91,710 in stakes.

Allwood Stud bred rather a notable double at Gloucester Park on January 20 with exciting pacer Machnificent (1:53) and Joe With Flow (1:57.1). Both notched their 13th successes.

Allwood Stud bred no less than 15 individual winners of 18 races during January.

Our stallions Follow The Stars and Fly Like An Eagle both enjoyed a terrific month with 12 and 10 winners respectively.

Besides Troopingofthecolor, Follow The Stars was represented by the Albion Park winner Swooping Eagle (1:56.6), the three-year-old filly Alexandra Thegreat, Stars Of Gold (1:57.6), Bonstar (1:57.8), Speeding Star, Follow The Music, Dreams Of Valhalla, Mybrotherskeeper, Motor On Lilly, Startup (1:58.2) and Elish Star.
