Allwood Stud Farm had a red-letter night at Gloucester Park on November 26 when they bred three winners in the three-year-olds Machnificent and Star Of Willoughby and Back In Twenty.

Star Of Willoughby put the exclamation on the night, coming from a seemingly hopeless position to down a top field in a new lifetime mark of 1:56.2 over 2130 metres. It was his eighth success.

While Machnificent put up a new three-year-old track record rate of 1:53 over 1730 metres, carving out his last 800 in a sizzling 54.9 seconds. The win lifted his stake tally to beyond $100,000.

The trio were part of a haul of 14 individual winners of 19 races bred by Allwood Stud during November.

Other homebred winners included the two-year-olds Rellim, a winner at Pinjarra and Narrogin, the three-year-olds Wheresthetowrope (Pinjarra), Kissed By A Rose (Northam), Silver Star Lombo and Our Boy Archie (both Narrogin), Allwood Wizard (Wagin) and Make It Quick and Troopingofthecolor (both Collie, the four-year-old Star Of The Class (Wagin) and the open age performers Allwood Glow (Northam) and Military Master (1:55, Yonkers, New York).

Fly Like An Eagle, the resident stallion at Allwood Stud, was represented by four two-year-old winners including two ‘new’ winners and a three-year-old in Fear The Eagle, who won in a career-best 1:57.1 at Penrith.

Juvenile winners sired by Fly Like An Eagle were Catch The Red Eye (Pinjarra), The Wildcard (Narrogin), Smokey’s Shadow (Wagin) and Be Home Soon (Collie).

The Mach Three horse has sired 18 two-year-old winners this season and is in fifth position on the two-year-old stakemoney list with $523,286 – an average of $15,857 per starter.

Interestingly, more than 50 percent of Fly Like An Eagle’s current two-year-old crop of 64 have raced and 18 have been successful and nine have been placed.

Follow The Stars, who is standing this season at Medowie Lodge, Newcastle (NSW), had another very productive month with 14 individual winners of 18 races.

The list included the Gloucester Park three-year-old winners Star Of Willoughby and Robbie Rocket (1:56.3), Chance Eclipse, Rip Jackson, Belle Livia Star, Silver Star Lombo, Make It Quick, Allwood Wizard, Troopingofthecolor, Wheresthetowrope and Our Boy Archie, the two-year-old Rellim and the four-year-olds Galactic Ruler and Star Of The Class.

Follow The Stars has been represented by 11 two-year-old winners and 26 three-year-olds this season to date.
