Star four-year-old Machnificent, who was bred, raised and sold by Allwood Stud, further underlined his potential with a brilliant win in the Group 2 $50,000 Nights Of Thunder at Gloucester Park.
The entire rated a sharp 1:52.4 for 1730 metres in registering his 11th success from 38 starts. He has won $136,730 in stakes.
Jesse Allwood, the latest member of the ‘$100,000 Club, Star Of Willoughby (1:55.9) and the three-year-old Mister Montblanc were other Gloucester Park winners in January bred by Allwood Stud.
Fly Like An Eagle, the stud’s resident sire, has made a flying start to the new season with winners in NSW, Tasmania and WA.
The brilliant three-year-old filly Wonderful To Fly, who notched her 10th success from just 18 starts at Gloucester Park and now the winner of $170,000, is undoubtedly his headline performer.
Fly Like An Eagle was also represented by the three-year-old winners Mister Montblanc (Gloucester Park and Pinjarra), The Mercenary (Pinjarra), Ay Milton (Albany) and Mayleejae Eagle, winner of the Tasmanian Country Guineas, and the open age winners Fear The Eagle (1:56.9, Goulburn), Eagle Art (Dubbo), Mondo’s Eagle (Maitland) and Cohlin (Busselton).
The stud-owned Follow The Stars continues to sire winners all around the country.
The list of winners in January includes the Gloucester Park three-year-old winner Sonic Suzy (1:55.7), the double Victorian winner Dashndot, Startup (1:57.7, Globe Derby Park), the three-year-old Follow The Music, Troopingofthecolor, Pennies Following (Mildura), Our Shooting Star, Shes All Star (Redcliffe), Step It Up, Robbie Rocket (1:57.6) and Our Boy Archie.
Allwood Stud bred no less than a dozen winners for the month. Besides Machnificent, stud winners were Jesse Allwood, Star Of Willoughby and Mister Montblanc (all Gloucester Park), Step It Up (3 wins), Allwood Mach, On A Good Note, Follow The Music, Troopingofthecolour, Our Shooting Star, Shes All Star and Our Boy Archie.
