Bunbury double!

Bunbury double!

A winning double at the Bunbury Memorial meeting on May 5 was the highlight of another busy month on the racetrack for Allwood Stud bred or owned performers. No less than six Allwood bred/owned pacers emerged successful in Western Australia and Victoria during the month.

Lord Willoughby

Back In Twenty, a lightly raced youngster bred and raced by Allwood Stud, led throughout in the Ray De Campo Memorial for two-year-old colts and geldings, clocking 1:56.5 for the flying mile with the last half in 56.2. The colt is the first foal of the 1:55 Northern Luck mare Aristocratic Glow.

Earlier in the night Veiled Secret, a three-year-old daughter of resident sire TINTED CLOUD and the multiple Group 1 winner Sheer Royalty (by PARSON’S DEN), overcame a tough passage to equal her lifetime mark of 1:57.4 in posting her third success.

Veiled Secret was one of four winners produced by TINTED CLOUD in May. His other winners were Skyfella Cam (1:56.2, Albion Park), Hey Suzie (1:59.7, Bathurst) and Alto Cumulus (Globe Derby Park).

Talented four-year-old Lord Willoughby, bred and owned by Allwood Stud, notched back-to-back wins at Gloucester Park to push his stake earnings over the $100,000 plateau. The gelding is out of the former Australian 2YO of the Year Amongst Royalty (by PARSON’S DEN).

Allwood Peacemaker

Pick My Pocket, a New Zealand-bred mare owned by Allwood Stud, picked up her sixth win on Australian soil at Pinjarra in 1:56.3, while Allwood Peacemaker, a three-year-old homebred gelding out of World Peace, notched his second success at Narrogin.

Meanwhile, Might Be Luck, a gelding out of the stud owned Marilyn’s Might, posted win No 19 and sent his stake tally to beyond $130,000 at Ballarat.
