RED-LETTER MONTH FOR ALLWOOD STUD

August 2019 proved a real red-letter month for Western Australia’s leading standardbred nursery, Allwood Stud.

The farm bred and raced eight individual winners for the month including four at Gloucester Park and a Gloucester Park double and quinella.

Heading the vanguard was the six-year-old Atmospherical, who won twice at headquarters in 1:54.2 and 1:56.1 to send his stake earnings over the $50,000 mark.

Looks Official, a four-year-old mare, also notched two wins at Gloucester Park and, on September 17, defeated another Allwood Stud bred and owned pacer, All Over Tan.

Joe With The Flow (1:57.2), another new member of the ‘$50,000 Club’, and Allwood Peacemaker were other Allwood Stud bred performers to win at Gloucester Park.

For Honourandglory, a 1:58 winner at Pinjarra and Northam, the ‘new’ winners Allwoods Treaty (1:58.7, Pinjarra) and the three-year-old Bettor Look (Central Wheatbelt), and the exported Lord Willoughby (1:52.6, Saratoga, New York) were other recent winners bred by Allwood Stud.

TINTED CLOUD continues to build on an impressive score of winners. They included the Albion Park victor Skyfella Cam (1:56.7), Buriton Bailey NZ (1:59.3, Globe Derby Park) and Platinum Penny (1:57.4, Newcastle).

Meanwhile, LOMBO MANDINGO’s leading son Brocks Territory won in a slick 1:55 at Menangle to increase his stake tally to more than $150,000.
