Allwood Stud sire Follow The Stars was represented by a pair of ‘new’ juvenile winners in August in Tempt The Stars, a winner at Pinjarra and Northam, and the Bunbury victor Philthejug.
Not to be outdone, resident stallion Fly Like An Eagle produced the runaway Gloucester Park winner Lenora Jane (1:57.9), the winner of two of her four starts to date.
Fly Like An Eagle’s outstanding daughter Wonderful To Fly notched her 28th success when she humbled her opposition in a Free-for-all at Gloucester Park, lifting her stake tally beyond the $550,000 mark. She has won seven out of 11 this year for $150,085.
Other Fly Like An Eagle winners for the month were the three-year-olds Runningonempty 1:56.7 (Gloucester Park), Allaglow and Flys At Night and others in Me Flash (1:55.8), Extraordinary Mary, Cohlin, Girl Just Fly, The Wildcat, Tomlous Jambo, Hope and Fear The Eagle.
Fly Like An Eagle has sired 77 individual winners from 114 starters for $3.19million, an average of $27,985 per starter.
Follow The Stars, who is based at Medowie Lodge in NSW, had another very productive month. He also left the three-year-old winner Arkamara Star and others in the dual Melton winner Spun Silver, the Merriden Cup winner Troopingofthecolor, Our Flowing Star, Follow The Milkyway, Lap Of Honour (Globe Derby Park twice), Startup and the trotter That’s Not My Gait.
Allwood Stud Farm bred nine individual winners in August. They were Philthejug, Extraordinary Mary, Tomlous Jambo, Allaglow, Troopingofthecolor, Follow The Milkyway, Our Glowing Star, Flys At Night and Arkamara Star.
